$36 MILLION DOLLAR BEVERLY HILLS MODERN - SEE THIS HOUSE

Exterior of a Beverly Hills mansion on its own island

A mansion perched on its own island above Beverly Hills and Los Angeles. Quite awesome. Sleek...modern...super amazing views... the ultimate glass house.

An uber home for sale really...it is listed by Mauricio Umansky (Real Housewives t.v. show husband) of The Agency.

EE, TE's son, found this one online and showed it to me on Saturday. I was impressed with EE's cool modern aesthetic in homes at such a young age.  Meanwhile, I think TE and EE were most impressed with the garage of the home - a guy's car parking dream I suppose because even the garage has floor to ceiling windows and city views.  Check out the garage on COCOCOZY Pinterest (and remember to follow me there for extras)

6 bedrooms, 10 baths in a 11,200 square feet of home...all for $36 million.  Built by developer Richard Papalian, designer Michael Palumbo and architect Marc Whipple, the finest materials were used to construct this house.

Amazing views of all of Los Angeles...water, city and more.  The home sits on its own island...surrounded by a modern day moat of sorts.   A “white chocolate, dark chocolate” theme called for the use of Hera Limestone from the Sinai Peninsula, elegant Super Thassos floor tiles, beautiful Wenge wood, the finest German-made Schucco windows, custom-engineered Renlita doors.  The state-of-the-art kitchen features Italian lacquered cabinetry and integrated Miele appliances.  There is a guest house, putting green and pool too!  Sitting on almost an acre...this home is a little world unto itself.

I think I could make do with this mansion!  You?

Greystone Mansion garden hot pink bougainvillea flowers estate

Another photo from the Greystone Mansion garden in Beverly Hills.  Took this last weekend.   Love this glimpse of the garden with so many types of plants including this hot pink bougainvillea intertwined throughout the grasses.  An endless garden with a magnificent city view!

Happy Sunday!

Hope you are having a great weekend.

BEVERLY HILLS TUDOR HOME REVIVED!

Front exterior of a Beverly Hills Tudor style home by Betsy Burnham

A Beverly Hills Tudor style home made bright and cheerful by Los Angeles based interior designer Betsy Burnham.

Tudor homes sometimes have a darker more heavy feel to the decor - full of tradition and wood paneling I think.   Not this home.  With walls painted a bright white and an eclectic introduction of textiles, upholstery and wallpaper in muted tones of grays, blues, corals and lavenders, this home feels nothing like your run of the mill tudor!

Living room in Tudor style home with gray sofas with purple accent pillows, statuette lamps and a piano
The gray upholstered furniture in the living room gets a bit of color with wonderful purple cushions.  Also love the statuette lamps on the console. (above)

Nothing like a neatly arrnage coffee table with books, amethyst Calla Lilies and just the right reading. (above)

T.V. Room with Palm Beach style fabric upholstered sofas and a large leather ottoman.
The t.v. room features a large built in cabinet with beadboard door fronts, coral sofas upholstered in a Chinoiserie Palm Beach like fabric and a square tufted leather ottoman. (above)

What I like about this house is that it seems comfortable, livable and well designed.  Not too over the top in the decor but just enough to show a bit of personality and style.  Like.  Like a lot.

Happy Wednesday!

P.S. Picked up my dog Mr. Boo yesterday (see previous post) from the surgery hospital and took him over to the vet who will nurse him back to health over the next two weeks.  He looked so sad and tired after his surgery! Poor guy.

P.P.S.  Headed to the theater tonight to see a play.  So excited.

P.P.P.S.  Must also make it up to my little cottage in the Hollywood Hills today to see how construction is progressing and to talk about the floors.  My mom and my sis DS are worried that I am not moving things along quick enough...so today...we're going to get the project moving!!!

P.P.P.P.S.  Have a great day!

P.P.P.P.P.S.  Thank you to fab designer Joe Lucas owner of Harbinger showroom for the tip on the master bedroom wallpaper source.

PACKING DAY & SPARKLING NIGHT AT COCOCOZY HQ!

COCOCOZY gift box with black and white stripped ribbon on a white table at COCOCOZY HQ
COCOCOZY Throw gift wrapped!

Stopped by COCOCOZY Headquarters (HQ) in Beverly Hills this morning before work. So exciting...a busy day.

Today, CM who runs all operations at COCOCOZY and JW who helps out with everything including marketing are both packing up gifts for a very special order we are doing for a very big entertainment company! The entertainment company has ordered dozens and dozens of our COCOCOZY throws as holiday gifts! Woohoooo!!

We wrap the throws in white boxes, with striped black and white grosgrain ribbon and with a COCOCOZY hangtag.

We are leaving the ribbon untied so the corporate client can put a note of their own inside the boxes.

Two black and white stripped ribbons folded neatly wrapped in plastic with COCOCOZY's logos on them on a white table. An orange post it note is in front of each stack with either "Option A" or "Option B" written on it
JW sent me options of how we are going to send the ribbon for gift wrapping to our corporate client. (above)

And then, as of this weekend, nights sparkle at COCOCOZY HQ.  Last night, JW, sent me this gorgeous photo below looking out of the window at COCOCOZY HQ.  We are in a building right on Beverly Drive in Beverly Hills and every year for the holidays the building owner decks out the exterior of all of his buildings on the street with sparkle white lights.  We are on the top/second floor so the lights are right outside of our window.  I guess this weekend, unbeknownst to any of us, the lights went up. JW was in the office last night and all of sudden the lights turned on...she said it scared her at first because she wasn't expecting it...but then she was thrilled for all of the sparkle!

COCOCOZY HQ at Night - JW sent me this photo from COCOCOZY HQ with a note that said "Tis the season to sparkle"! Love this. (above)
So the holidays are in full swing at COCOCOZY HQ.  Getting a jump start on Christmas!

A packing day and a sparkling night at our little tiny offices!  So exciting!  A special thanks to CM and JW for all of their hard work.  Things are looking awesome!

Happy Thursday!

P.S. Also, to add to the confusion at HQ today, we have a new chandelier that just arrived and CM and JW are having that hung today by our handyman as well.  Will share pictures of the new light fixture soon!

P.P.S.  Please tweet me on COCOCOZY Twitter about anything to do with design and decor and anything else...and I'll tweet back!  I love hearing from you all!

COLOR WATCH: MINT & GOLD!

hallway of doors and mirrors with mint walls and gold decorative molding
A hallway of doors and mirrors with mint walls and gold decorative molding! (above)

I am obsessed with mint colored things this summer for some reason.  So drawn to it that earlier this year I designed a mint colored pillow for the COCOCOZY textiles collection - our COCOCOZY Arch Sea Foam pillow.  I am considering buying a pair of mint sandals for my summer travels too.  I'm a mintaholic right now...help?

Loving mint combined with gold.  That's the combo of the day for today's COLOR WATCH!

What do you think of this color combination?  Do you like or dislike?  What do you think of mint?  Any color you are obsessing over this summer?

Happy Monday!

P.S.  Happy and sad to report that I spent yesterday working...happy to have gotten a lot done...sad that I was working on such a beautiful gorgeous Sunday here in Los Angeles.  I was over at COCOCOZY HQ (again not really a headquarters...just two small rooms in a slightly shabby office (or errr vintage) building in Beverly Hills).  I don't get to spend much time working out of COCOCOZY HQ as I am working during the day at my regular job...and I haven't really been able to go at night because I had them take out the not so pretty office lighting that was in the office when we got it...and just on last Thursday we  finally put up our own mercury glass pendant lights over the temporary conference table.  Am also still waiting on lots of furniture, lighting, window coverings and office accessories...all on order and expected to arrive at the end of August...the loot includes a cool table from France. Until then we are using temporary tables and shelves.  We have some new chairs I like, some pendant lights (still looking for a chandelier for the front room), and we had our sewing room make a huge drape in COCOCOZY Logo gray that hangs across the front room to conceal storage...the drapes are hanging from a track on the ceiling.  Anyhoooooooo...all of this to say the office still isn't done...but it was fun getting to work out of there yesterday.  C & E who are working out of the office seem to be okay with the slow decorating progress and say they like it and the location.  One step at a time...I guess. Want this to be done soon...but must have patience I guess!

COCOCOZY HQ in progress
Sneak peak progress report - COCOCOZY HQ only 1/4th done - Using a temporary table and missing lots of furniture, accessories and window coverings...but have gray hardwood floors, chairs, COCOCOZY Logo fabric and cute pendant lights.  Waiting on permanent conference table, a fretwork desk, huge display shelves, some vintage lamps, a chandelier for the front room, roman shades and so much more...oy vey...just stressed myself out! (above)

COCOCOZY HQ
Before COCOCOZY -  Before we moved in, the office  had weird office lighting, vertical blinds, and carpeting.

P.P.S.  Check out COCOCOZY Pinterest to see some of the furniture and lighting I am considering for the office...and let me know what you think.  Any suggestions?

P.P.P.S.  Once we get all of the permanent furniture and I've put the on the finishing touches, I will do a big photo shoot and reveal what the COCOCOZY HQ office looks like sometime in the fall.

P.P.P.P.S.  Happy Monday!

SEE THIS HOUSE: $3.5 MILLION FOR AN ARCHITECTURAL CLASSIC IN BEVERLY HILLS!

Backyard with a large pool, lounge chairs and a view into the house thanks to glass walls

Built in the 1960s by renowned architect Richard Dorman, this Beverly Hills home oozes mid century modern appeal...right down to the bright white terrazzo floors throughout.

Just over 4,000 square feet, 5 bedroom, 5 baths means a lot of space to decorate. Clearly you would have a budget to decorate if you could afford the nearly $3.5 million price tag.

This real estate listing being offered by Teles Properties is about two things really... 1) location, location, location (Beverly Hills...Angelo Drive) and 2) architectural design.

I do think though that the house is not overly "period"...I think it could handle really many types of decor...a neutral of sorts.  The indoor outdoor feel of the home is quite nice...lots of natural light through large impressive windows and glass doors. Oh, and then there is the kitchen with the modern red kitchen cabinets too...the most colorful room actually!

Please take a look at today's SEE THIS HOUSE!

Living room with a large glass sliding door, white tile floor, fireplace, and a grey sofa with blue and green accent pillows

Dining room with an oval yellow pendant light, red table, green and black chairs, a wood floor and a white area rug

Kitchen and dining area with reed cabinets and drawers, a red island with a white counter top, white table with wood chairs and a sliding glass door that leads outside

White bedroom with tile floor, red and blue accent pillows and a red barcelona chair with matching ottoman. There is a large sliding glass door that leads out to the pool

What do you think? Take it or leave it? How would you decorate it? Where would you start? What do you think about the terrazzo floors? Inquiring minds (or a least nosey me) want to know!

Happy Monday!
