STRIPE HYPE FOR SPRING!

Coming to realize as of late that I need a good stripe...I don't have any strong stripes in my life right now. Last fall I bought a bunch of striped clothing and returned it, I started a post on horizontal striped walls and never finished it, I thought about designing a striped throw for the Nbaynadamas collection but never got around to it...oh...I do have some striped pillows for my outdoor living room...but that is it on the stripes...I NEED MORE STRIPES IN MY LIFE!

Love the striped chairs in the photo above...they are the perfect accent to the bright little window seat area...the stripes liven up this alcove most definitely.

Stripes are cheery, springy, happy and all other good things ending in y. Stripes here I come.

Spent a wonderful day in Venice on Saturday...breakfast at Gjelina and then shopping on Abbot Kinney for hours...browsing, wandering, enjoying the day (even when the strap on my dress broke and I had to buy another dress right on the street...all was good...my luck but all was good).

On that lovely day in Venice Beach, I popped into Colcha - one of the most chic furniture stores. Inside Colcha there is a relaxed elegance about the well edited selection of furniture and home accessories in this shop. Ran into Sue Cowie who owns Colcha...she is very nice. Also ran into these cute tables for sale. Love them. They are by Casamidy and are just wonderful. Love the size, the arch detail and the painted metal and glass combination. The perfect little side table!

A LUCITE DINING TABLE LEADS ME TO FAB NYC INTERIOR DESIGNER TIMOTHY WHEALON!

Long story short.

Friend PR wrote me last week saying she was looking for a dining table for her new New York City apartment. She described that she was looking for a table that would be great for entertaining and times when she and her new hubby are not entertaining. She also said she was having some custom Italian pieces carved just for the room. I had seen this lucite table pictured above in Elle Decor last month and thought some version of a custom lucite table might be just right for PR. Lucite is great because it is clear it can blend well with any decor. She could do a rectangular table, round or oval. Love the idea...thank you very much...

So anyhoooooooooo....when I went to find this photo, I also found the work of fab NY interior designer Timothy Whealon. He is the one who designed this table for his own Hamptons home. Very smart, clever and well executed.
