$74 MILLION DOLLAR PALM BEACH ESTATE - LIST PRICE V. SALE PRICE

So this little ol' home in Palm Beach has been sold.  So sorry to inform you it is off the market...you cannot buy it right now.  The 27,000+ square foot waterfront mansion was listed for $74 million dollars.  It features 9 bedrooms, 17 baths, 5 car garage parking, a pool, a dock, a state of the art kitchen designed by a chef and so much more.  Oh did I mention this estate was newly built.  Construction was completed back in 2011.

Here's the scoop...it looks like the developer had to file bankruptcy after building this home...and he had to put it on the market right away.  He listed it for $74 million back in 2011...with no takers for about 2 years.  Last summer, the home finally sold.

Take a tour...then decide...what might you offer on this Palm Beach home if you had multi millions?  Then let me know in the comments.  I'll tell you how much it is was sold for tomorrow.

Okay...so this home was listed for $74 million...what do you think it actually sold for?  Oh, and would you ever want a house like this?  Do tell!

Happy Thursday!

P.S.  Was on the phone the other day with best of friend AM who lives in New York.  Between the two of us, I am the talker most definitely.  She does speak but the other day she broke a record of the least amount of words in one conversation.  Here is a replay of our phone call:
Me: "Hi AM. How are you?"
AM: Silence
Me: "Hello?"
AM: Silence
Me: "Hello? Are you there?"
AM: "Hi"
Me: "How are you?"
AM: Silence
Me: "How are you?"
AM: "Fine"
Me: "Ok...clearly, I am asking the wrong questions.  It is allowing you only one word answers.  Okay, please describe your weekend with your kids and husband"
AM: "Bari class, park, dinner"

P.P.S.  Had a great dinner the other night at Mr. C's in Los Angeles.  Was with dear friends BN and SN, new friends M and CH and my guy TE.   Fun catching up with friends.

P.P.P.S.  Remember to tell me what you think of this house!

$32 MILLION DOLLAR PALM BEACH ESTATE - SEE THIS HOUSE

Palm Beach estate

Built in 1935, this recently refreshed Palm Beach estate just went on the market for $32 million dollars. It is listed by Sotheby's Realty.  6 bedrooms, 11 baths, 2 staff rooms in almost 11,000 square feet...this home is the a Palm Beach Florida classic.  The mansion offers sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean, a pool, tennis court and more.

For the right person, this could be a nice winter getaway home...with a little bit of redecorating...right?

Take a look.

Let's see...if I had $32 million would I spend it on this house? Well probably not...but I would certainly love to visit if one of my friends decided to get it (AM, FF, JLH, FM...any takers?)!

Happy Monday!

PALM BEACH PRIZE PULITZER IN PURPLE - HOUSE BEAUTIFUL EXCLUSIVE

lilly pulitzer daughter liza calhoun palm beach home house living room outdoor indoor vaulted ceiling purple

This is the Palm Beach home of Liza Pulitzer Calhoun...daughter of the late iconic super preppy fashion designer Lilly Pulitzer.

Liza's home is featured in the June issue of House Beautiful that hits news stands today and once again, House Beautiful has given COCOCOZY an online exclusive preview!

The cool thing about the space is that the living room is actually outside...covered by a very deep overhang.  The property is actually two smaller houses connected by a breezeway so it made sense to have part of the main living spaces be outside!

Liza's mom was known for infusing bold color into all of her fashion designs...and here in this home Liza takes a bit of her mother's fearlessness for color and melds that into her own design.  The living room boasts rattan sofas and chairs with purple upholstery and accents...and an outdoor patio with a fab porch swing features a mix of patterns and textures (lots of African and Indian prints)...all against a lush green background of the home's grounds.

P.S. Had a super fun night on Saturday...went to see Fleetwood Mac with TE at the Hollywood Bowl. We went with his friends/colleagues EH and TH. It was so much fun. Very sweet TE got us box seats about 20 rows from the front...we ordered dinner and wine that was brought to our box! A lovely L.A. night at the Bowl. Now before going to the concert I really didn't have a clue about Fleetwood Mac to be totally honest (I know...everyone I've said this to looks at me like I'm an alien that was born and raised on another planet...I got a lot of "How could you not know Fleetwood Mac?" comments)...but once I got there I realized I knew almost every one of their classic songs. Took this blurry photo from the aisle because TE and I had gotten up from our seats and then they started to play "Landslide"...we had to stop and watch. It was magical.

SEE THIS HOUSE: BUYING INTO PALM BEACH AT $42 MILLION!

Exterior of a mansion in Palm Beach

7 bedrooms, 8 full baths, 5 half baths, water views and 13,278 square feet...a grand home in posh Palm Beach, Florida. All of that for $42.5 million!

Huh...$42.5 million...I am speechless. I wish I had an extra $42 let alone $42.5 million. Again...I am speechless.

Okay...just got my voice and words back...let's see is there anything I like about this home? Not at all my style but here goes...I know I can find something I like here...I like the views of the Intercoastal waterways, I like the lanai, I like the pavers in the driveway and lining the pool, I like the pool, I like the exterior facade (front and back), I like the second floor outdoor balcony, and I like the arched doorways and windows. I don't know what style the home is architecturally but it is new...built in 2008.

What do you think? Take a look...

Okay...just figured it out...wasn't sure I liked it at all...now, I'm thinking this house does have some potential. Never have thought about living in Palm Beach but this could be my winter vacation home - place to get away from the chilly winters here in my small cottage in the Hollywood Hills (LOL!)!

I would make some big and major changes to the decor...the interior design needs a lot of work in my opinion - I would immediately get rid of all that wall-to-wall carpet in the bedrooms, I would redo the kitchen, take out the scrolly ironwork stuff on the arched front doors, get rid of that stone thing above the living room fireplace, stain the paneled library walls a rich dark color wood so it felt like a real library, change all of the furnishings (except for the lucite table in the living room). I would give the home a design point of view and then use it as a vacation home...yes...January to February (two months out of the year) in Palm Beach. I wonder if that is high social season there. I wonder who my neighbors would be...?

You?

Happy Friday!
