MINT & MARBLE - HOW TO MAKE A SMALL MODERN KITCHEN WORK!

kitchen with gold faucet, mint cabinets, marble slab backsplash and matching counter

I like this small kitchen with its flat front ever so slightly mint colored cabinets and the marble slab backsplash and counters. This small space works.

A one wall kitchen that is oh so small but feels light and airy and roomy. The key is the light colored cabinets, the white washed wood floors and the clean lines used throughout. There is no busy mosaic tile backsplash here. There is also an absence of drawerrs and doors with pulls and knobs and recessed panels. Clean simple.

I like the touch flavor with the gold or brass colored faucet on the sink. Very nice contrast.

To add a bit of personality, the eat in kitchen boasts a long table with mish mosh mix of chairs including some bentwood cafe style chairs and a host chair painted in a dark green to compliment the cabinets.  The round pendant light in chrome mirror finish adds light with its reflective surface too.

I like. Take a look.

What do you think of this small kitchen? Too minimalist for you or just right?

Happy Friday!

WEEKEND PHOTO: COLORFUL COOKWARE DOUBLES AS TABLETOP DECOR!

brightly colored colanders on a wood shelf at Whole Foods

I like this photo. If you can believe it, I took this photo at the market, the supermarket...yes...that's right...why was I carrying a camera around a market...I don't know...but I was.

Anyhooooo, at Whole Foods, they have these cute enamel brightly colored colanders there...I bought four in the granny smith apple green. I've used them at parties - put fresh strawberries and grapes in them and plopped them right next to the cheese plate. They are fabulously festive. They are about $19 each. Love these. They make me cheery!

Hope you have a happy weekend. I'm looking forward to seeing some out-of-town visitors and a very good old friend who is in from Seattle (let me clarify...the friend is not old...she is a good friend that I've known for a long time...hee hee)!

Happy Saturday.

P.S. Realized I need to get back to more photo taking. I was taking so many photos for Nbaynadamas for awhile but now I keep forgetting my camera at home. Note to self...take camera. I've been remiss as of late with the picture snapping so to make up for it I'm going to find something cool to take pictures of this weekend and I'll share it with you.
