WEEKEND PHOTO - BLUE STAIRS

blue stairs staircase house interior wire railing modern home design decor Nbaynadamas

Fantastic sleek modern blue stairs.  I like.  A touch of playfulness added to the decor in this apartment.  Love these stairs.  Would consider doing something a little daring with stairs if I had a two story home. Would you?

Happy Saturday!

COCOCOZY EXCLUSIVE: HOUSE BEAUTIFUL PREVIEW OF DESIGNER TOBI TOBIN'S HOLLYWOOD HILLS HOME!

Am obsessed with sisal, sea grass, grass cloth and more lately.  It could be a phase I am going through.

Imagine my delight when SA who does publicity for House Beautiful sent me these photos of  the Hollywood Hills home belonging to interior designer Tobi Tobin.

These photos are from House Beautiful's May 2013 issue hitting stands on April 23rd.

I love the sisal rugs on floors throughout, grass cloth wallpaper in the foyer, the sea grass runner with black trim on the stairs.   Natural woven fibers...I like this look..especially as we approach summer.

A sparkling chandelier, white counters and glossy black kitchen cabinets! (above)

What do you think of this Hollywood Hills home?  Do you like the use of natural fibers?

Happy Monday!

WEEKEND PHOTO!

Hall with curved doorway, white stairs with black runner, log ceiling, white washed walls and a woven basket

Great hall...great curved doorway...great white stairs with black runner...great log ceiling...great white washed walls! Maybe this is some place in Morocco? I can only imagine what the rest of the space must look like...probably fresh, serene, rich in textures but uncluttered in silhouettes...I can only imagine!

Wonderful stairs = endless possibilities.

Went to Soho House here in L.A. last night with JD. Hadn't been to the Los Angeles version yet. Have spent lots of time at the New York Soho House and been to the London one once ... but this was my first time at L.A. (or should I say West Hollywood). Was toying with applying to be a member but then dug my heels in and thought not. Well my mind might have been changed last night. The decor by Waldo Fernandez is just amazing. The panoramic city views are stunning. Check out my twitter to see the photo of the view from the roof at night. Oh yes, the quinoa salad is DELICIOUS and the photo booth is fun too (I pretty much made us do a photo shoot until we got the right shot to put on the wall). All that said...rethinking and may have to join after all! Thanks to JD for the fun eve!

Anyhooo....already have taken the dog on a walk this morning through the hills and now I'm off...into 105 degree weather (wish me luck)!

Happy happy Sunday!

COLOR WATCH: STAIRS WITH FLAIR - SPIRALING OUT WITH HOT PINK!

Minimalist kitchen with white Panton swoosh chairs, a Saarinen tulip table, white leather love seat and hot pink spiral staircase
A minimalist kitchen/dining area with white Panton swoosh chairs, a Saarinen tulip table a leather love seat and a hot pink spiral staircase!(above)

Need I say more. Don't know if I could live with it but I love this bright pink spiral staircase. Way to make a design statement...keep everything else simple and then infuse powerful saturated color in one part of a room! Great stairs!

What do you think?

Happy Tuesday!

DANGLING FIREPLACE & FLOATING STAIRS IN A HOME WITH A TROPICAL VIEW!

Modern living room with wall of windows with a view of a stunning tropical garden and a ceiling mounted hanging fireplace

Okay...I want to start off by saying the wall of windows and the stunning tropical garden view in this modern living room are the show stoppers. The wall of lush green vegetation is stunning and captivating. The plants and trees create a living tableau...a beautiful backdrop for the entire room.

After a second and third glance at this space, I did notice that the room also had two surprising interior design elements...the first is the ceiling mounted long black hanging fireplace (above) an the second is the cool floating staircase (pictured below).

Decor is good...view is spectacular...hanging fireplace and floating staircase are smashing design surprises!

What do you think is the best element of this room?

BLOCKS OF BLUE!

Simple bedroom with a large block of blue behind the headboard

I love the color blue. I also love seeing solid blocks of uninterrupted blue in home decor. Here are some fab photos of blocks of blue used to decorate. It works in bedrooms, living rooms, on walls, on furniture like chairs and even on stairs. No need for busy prints or patterns when it comes to blue. Just a solid punch of it here or there or all over works!

Any shade blue is good too...turquoise, dark blue, royal blue, aqua, cobalt blue, teal, baby blue, navy blue, powder blue and of course Tiffany Blue...they all can make a room complete.

Try a bold block of solid blue in your house, home, apartment, country cottage or city loft...and send me a picture...would love to see how it looks!

Worn turquoise stairs
Photo: 1st Option

My favorite of these blue photos is the staircase in aqua blue (or is that turquoise...never know the difference). There is something so beachy rustic chic about these worn stairs and the color. I love the idea of using blue on the floor!

Which is your favorite?
