CITY KITCHEN CONFIDENCE

Kitchen in a West Village apartment with subway with dark grout walls, grey cabinets, French doors and large kitchen island

The kitchen in a West Village apartment with garden views.  A city apartment kitchen with a sophisticated country look.  Subway tile with dark grout line the walls, dark charcoal gray cabinets and gray trim around the large french doors, brass accents adding a bit of gleam and white marble counters.  Very nice.  A place to cook, dine, and entertain.  Lately am obsessed with having a nice size kitchen with an island.  Can imagine some day my big kitchen with an island being the focal point of my home...I would cook (yes mom I would cook), work on COCOCOZY (via laptop), drink lots of Earl Gray tea, entertain my friends and family, and some days just take some time to sit quietly and dream.

Happy Thursday!

TILE FILE: SOOTHING CERAMIC TILE!

Bathroom with Michael S. Smith's Labyrinth tiles for Ann Sacks from floor to ceiling, an undermount sink where you can see the pipes and a marble tile floor

As I mentioned earlier this week, was in gorgeous tile store Ann Sacks over the weekend (when I should have been doing a million other things) dreaming about tile and doing over a bathroom. I happened upon this bathroom vignette with this light blue ceramic tile.

Love this tile! The carved maze like pattern, its translucent like quality that almost makes it look like glass, and the color...oh that soothing relaxing shade of blue. The tile is by Michael S. Smith for Ann Sacks and it is called Labyrinth. I think it is like $48 or $58 a square foot (can't remember but I'll call them later today and ask). So fantastic.

If you could re-do your bath right now, what colors might you use? What kind of tiles (glass, ceramic, marble mosaic)? What do you think of these beauties (you know what I think...)?

Happy Friday!

P.S. Am in Atlanta...running off to the Christian Mosso Associates (CMA) Showroom to show the Nbaynadamas collection. Please stop by and say hi. Am wearing flats because yesterday, every single gate I had to walk from or to was a several mile walk it seemed and I chose to wear heels on the flight. Not smart. So today I am suffering. Am wearing sparkling flats and have some heels in my bag.

KITCHEN WEEK BEGINS!

Okay...am a huge commitment-phobe when it comes to the blog and saying I'll do anything for a week...but I think I'll break out of my commitment free comfort zone and say it.

Welcome to KITCHEN WEEK here on Nbaynadamas. This week (for 5 days not the full week...breaking out into cold sweat of thought of sticking to something beyond the 5 days), I'll bring you some fab kitchens and some design ideas for your eating spaces.

I like this kitchen here with its floor to ceiling white subway tile walls, the floating metal shelf that serves as a stylish pot rack, and love the creamy color of the range (what a fab oven...can't tell what brand it is but I'm thinking Viking).  And that black door with the panes leading out to a garden perhaps?  Perfection!

What do you think of this first KITCHEN WEEK kitchen? Do tell!

Hope you enjoy!  Wish me luck.

Happy Monday!

P.S. Wanted to thank reader and clothing designer Annabelle LaRoque for sending me a photo the other day. She was visiting Palm Beach for Easter and happened upon a display of Nbaynadamas pillows at gorgeous Palm Beach furniture shop Island Home! Was so excited to see my pillows on display at a store! Go to Nbaynadamas Twitter to see the photo of Nbaynadamas Fence pillows that Annabelle took with her phone and then sent to me! Thank you Annabelle!

P.P.S. Also, readers...please do send in photos of your kitchens this week. I would love to see and I might even post! Can't wait to see your cooking spaces too! Email me at Nbaynadamas@gmail.com!
