I mentioned AT in a previous post. Alyssa, one of my best friends from here in L.A., uprooted her life about two and half years ago and moved off to London. She now lives as an expat in London and is loving her charmed life there.

When AT first moved to London, she lived in the tony area of Notting Hill in a modernized apartment with a key to a communal garden. She and her dogs, Shadow and Maddy, loved the area...but AT wanted to give her canines more space.

Now AT lives in a ground floor apartment or "flat" as they say in London's Hampstead Heath area...she not only has a wonderful garden patio but also has an entire heath (I think this means park) for her dogs to enjoy.

AT recently wrote me a note about a cost free makeover she recently did on her London flat. Here is AT's most recent design dispatch from London:

"hey [Coco] -
here are some more updated photos of my place ... the girl who lives above me is my oldest friend from junior high school, shannon ... as with everything in life, as she was moving here my upstairs neighbors (and also my landlord) were moving to the US and needed to rent their flat out ... timing was perfect and shannon moved in a few months ago ...
...her folks came to visit a few weeks ago... her mother, connie, has the best eye for design and came in and redid my entire flat - she basically just took what i had and rearranged everything - the place is 100% better - much warmer, more inviting ... i love it ... we call her connie the "sage" you can see why ... ill try to get you some photos of shannon's place ... - her place is great!
let me know if you need me to explain any of them ... can't wait to see you in august!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Living room features a under the window seating area with floral upholstered chaise lounge -great for reading or relaxing after a long day on the heath with pooches!

In the dining room, a Saarinen like tulip table from Ikea is lit by a beautiful crystal chandelier. A decorative plate rests on top of the dining room mantel. (above)

AT has made her bedroom the ultimate serene sleeping space...by making the color scheme all white.

When I asked AT about her bedroom and all of the chandeliers hanging from ceilings in every room of the flat...here is what she said:

"okay - so the chandeliers where up when i moved in - they are amazing but not expensive at all ... i even have them in the bathrooms ...the owners did an amazing job with them.
The bed linens i got a second hand shop! they were embroidered curtains and i just made it my comforter - it goes over my duvet - the sheets and pillow cases are just white ... love white linens!"

At the foot of the bed, Alyssa has a wonderful view of her private garden patio (above).
