Was inspired to think about trim and borders when I went to the website of San Francisco interior designer Palmer Weiss. Palmer's site describes her design inspirations as "a unique style that both respects tradition and embraces new ideas" and says that Palmer "is known for creating timeless, modern and livable interiors with her signature bursts of color and a little bit of that Southern eccentricity thrown in for fun".
Her style is AMAZING. Modern with classic touches or classic with modern touches...depending on the space it seems. Beautiful colors, lots of texture and a great skill in making rooms feel sophisticated but extremely livable!

TRIM and BORDERS...One of the touches that Palmer seems to put in many of her designs is adding decorative trim or borders to home fabrics. Whether it be a drape, curtain, pillow, tablecloth, an upholstered piece of furniture like a sofa or chair, it looks like Palmer has found a way to add very classic (almost preppy) visual interest to her rooms by adding a bold border/trim as a simple but strong accent.
