SMART DESIGN: PROTECTING A PURE WHITE SOFA WITH POLISH AND PANACHE!

Okay...what a genius idea. Want a pure white sofa or chair but worried about sitting traffic (in other words, dirt)? How about this trick? A sleek dark tailored seat cushion top.

This fantastic Hamptons living room features a bright white sofa and chairs with chocolate brown two toned seat cushions. To make sure guests don't think the chocolate on the seat is an after thought, each piece of upholstered furniture has corner kick pleats revealing a bit more of that rich chocolate brown. Then to tie things together even more...a few brown throw pillows with white piping (or flange) are added into the mix. I think the two-toned seat cushion works here...don't think it would have worked if the whole seat was brown (look out for an upcoming post on two toned walls...shoot...there I go again...mentioning something that I could potentially procrastinate on ever putting up and then risking a Nbaynadamas reader writing to me and saying "Coco, didn't you say you were going to do a post on two-toned walls?"...note to self...do not sneak peek anything because of tendency to procrastinate or put off once...note to self...hee hee).

Can't tell whether this is a simple blanket or the seat cushions are fully upholstered with the brown top. Either way...it works.



Did I also mention how much I like the dark wood floors, white hide rug, great coffee table and the diminutive touches of yellow. Very nice. Well done.
