KITCHEN WEEK: THE UPS AND DOWNS OF OPEN SHELVING!

Sleek kitchen with dark wood floor, white counter tops, a dark wood island has open shelves holding books and other small objects, two white pendant lights and floating shelves on the back wall on both side of the hood

Day 6 of KITCHEN WEEK on Nbaynadamas!

Today...open shelving in modern open kitchens. I like the use of open shelving in these two sleek kitchens...the shelves are more like cubbies and are used to store and display.

Functional and decorative at the same time. I am particularly loving the open nooks in the dark wood kitchen island above...perfect storage for cookbooks and more.

Sleek kitchen with white cabinets and drawers, a dark wood floor, stainless appliances and open shelves holding different kinds of bowls, books and other objects

Do you like open shelving or do you like to keep your goods hidden. In my small house in the Hollywood Hills it is a necessity to keep things hidden but if I had a bigger space...who knows? What do you think...let it all hang out in your kitchen...or keep it private...?

Happy Saturday!
