Okay. This is the last day of LIGHTING WEEK on Nbaynadamas and I've just scratched the surface of what's out there as far as cool lighting. What's a girl to do? Help.

Anyhoooo...as promised, a panoply of fab floor lamps. This is for those readers who liked the blue floor lamp I posted earlier this week and for my mother who has been desperately searching for the right floor lamps for her living room. Well...here you go!

I know you might think this last lamp, the big life-size horse, is a joke. It is not. I kind of like it for the right space. In fact, I actually really like it. If I had a huge modern loft in New York City, with white walls, sleek furniture, an overall minimalist aesthetic and lots and lots of extra cash...I might just plunk down the thousands it costs to own it. Definitely a conversation starter! I've always wanted a horse...this is cheaper than buying my own real thoroughbred..right? (In reality, I do not own a huge modern loft in NYC, I do not have a minimalist ultra modern aesthetic and most importantly, I do not have lots and lots of extra cash...so therefore, I will not be purchasing the Horse Lamp. Oh well...boo hoo...)

LIGHTING WEEK continues...and basically it has become "lighting shopping week" for me. LOL! Everyday, I go onto a million websites (or at least the dozens of sites that allow me to use their photos) and I pick out lighting that I like. Usually, in the past, my theme "weeks" have included a good balance of interior design/decor photos and goods for purchase...but not LIGHTING WEEK. This has turned into a single minded focused virtual shopping spree week for me...one in which I don't spend...but I just shop and shop and shop for lighting I like (well errr...I might end up spending...yikes).

So...after putting this collection of table lamps together, I realized I am not very original...I like the same thing. Lots of blue, lots of porcelain, some glass and some linear metal bases. Lots of bubbly round orb like forms. Add in a white lamp shade and there you have what I like. I didn't realize that I was so predictable until I took a step back and looked at all of the table lamps I've picked out...a very Nbaynadamas styled collection indeed. I love all of them by the way...did I mention that?

LIGHTING WEEK: A LOVELY LANTERN BRINGS MOROCCAN STYLE TO A LOS ANGELES MASTER BEDROOM!

Yoooohoooo...it's LIGHTING WEEK on Nbaynadamas!

I'm just doing it. Instead of procrastinating...I'm starting this lighting themed week with little or no plan. Each day of this week, I will feature at least one post about lighting of some sort.

This first LIGHTING WEEK post comes from my "photo archives" (whatever that means...but sounds wonderfully official). This is a photo from the master bedroom at friend Juliana Jaoudi's house in Venice Beach, California. (I featured some of Julie's darling house earlier this year on this site.)

Decor is simple and clean - low modern upholstered bed, a great dark wood armoire for storage, beautiful french doors, neutral colors - but what completes the room and adds fabulous flair is this metal Moroccan lantern.

This very large metal pierced chandelier (lantern) makes a huge design statement in this room...the perfect lighting addition!







The lantern is perfectly positioned in the center of the room and over the foot of the bed. (above)
