ROOM IN CHECK - ROOM TO LOVE 2.21.14

Am a huge fan of fabric covered upholstered walls...am also a huge fan of anything in a gingham check.  Imagine my delight when I found this little gem of a room...where everything from walls, to windows, to furniture is covered in a black and white gingham check.  Sounds like it would be too overwhelming...but in reality it looks so cute and cozy.

Note to self (and TE)...in future, take a small room and go completely gingham style!

Design non-sequitur...found this adorable knit top and skirt by Narciso Rodriguez to match the room.  Camouflage of sorts for a gingham check room!

GINGHAM STYLE WITH PRADA - FASHION FORWARD

Gingham, vichy, check...I don't care what you call it...I love it in home decor and in fashion. Now, this fall, Prada has brought the classic gingham to the runway with a slew of stylish dresses and coats. I want. Hello. Gingham is so classic but yet fresh to me. Any time I see it used in home decor I stop...and whenever anyone is wearing gingham, I have to comment.

For the 2014 COCOCOZY home furnishings collection, I designed my own take on a gingham check. You will have to wait and see.

In the meantime, enjoy all things gingham...upholstered furniture, checkered walls, vichy drapes, check chic Prada dresses and more.

TREND WATCH: CHECK IT OUT!

Check, vichy, some even say gingham...whatever you might call this pattern...I like.  A nice check on the fashion front does it for me every time.  I own quite a few checkered blouses and whenever I see a guy wearing a check shirt or tie...I must comment.  I love to see people wearing a delicate check!  Can't get enough of this pattern.  Lately, in home decor, I have been coming across vichy (the French call it vichy) quite a bit too and I am liking!

Yesterday, I was on the website of one of our new COCOCOZY home furnishings collection retailers based in Maryland, The Kellogg Collection (they bought quite a few lovely COCOCOZY pillows from us at market in early February), and I noticed they sell a ton of checkered print pillows.  I've also noticed quite a few check patterned home furnishing accessories in my travels out and about.

You might associate this pattern with a country styled home but it can be quite modern too.  I think it is timeless and can blend with most any style of design.

I love a crisp check.  What do you think? Take a look!
