So...AZ opens the front door and what do I see...a really cute but very cluttered apartment looking back at me.
AZ'S APARTMENT - FRONT DOOR
It was from this point on AZ averted her eyes at every turn. She apologized profusely for the clutter and then proceeded to point out all the things "wrong" with her place: "See this crack in the livingroom wall...the plaster is cracking", "I had to cover the windows with wax paper", "The bathroom walls are cream colored and the tile is white...what a disaster", "Look at this wall in my bedroom...I tried to spackle it but made a mess." ...and on and on and it went.
Soon her excuses became background noise.
All I could see was a pretty cute place, a one bedroom, one bath apartment with some really nice furniture (solid white couches, dark wood furniture), and in need for some real organizing and a little bit of design.
Basically, after four years in the apartment, AZ had given up and was simply using it as a dressing room/waystation
AZ'S LIVING ROOM
AZ'S DINING AREA
I hoped to help her change all of that...make her waystation into a home...a cozy getaway where she could invite friends and family (and boys or should I say men or should I say only men she is dating?)...slowly but surely...slowly but surely.
We were going to roll up our sleeves and get to work.
First issue...DE-CLUTTER!!!!!
Design and decorating would follow....
