So, a very dear friend of mine just bought a new house. She is quite keen and focused on what she wants as far as decor and design...she has a great eye for both. The house she chose is absolutely wonderful and is in perfect condition...fantastic location, lots of space, a great layout and a beautiful interior and exterior.

When this friend (who shall remain nameless until she says I can at least use her initials) did turn to me for some advice about good contractors and resources, I decided, in my usual way, to impose one piece of unsolicited advice (nothing's wrong with unsolicited advice...why not be pedantic, officious and potentially intrusive whenever possible...a good trait, right?....will make tons of new friends for me in the future...note to self: tone down need to give unsolicited advice...except in this case...hee hee).

My advice (unsolicited) to this particular friend was..."buy outdoor furniture now when EVERYTHING is on sale". This is not something a first time buyer/new home owner would necessarily think of as one of their first "must have" purchases but, in this case, timing is everything.

This friend seems to like all-weather wicker resin furniture. There is a ton of it on sale now. The late summer is the best time to purchase this kind of furniture because of all of the deep discounts on outdoor or patio furnishings. Even though it doesn't seem to make sense, as we head into fall and winter, I think she'll be happy next spring when she has her full set of all-weather wicker on her lovely patio.

She had better heed this good advice or else...(now I can add pushy into the mix of attractive character traits...)

Most all-weather wicker seems to come in a dark brown or dark chocolate color, although some do carry the same pieces in white.

By the way, remember that whether you are looking for iron, teak, wicker...regardless of design and style, if you are thinking about purchasing outdoor furniture for your house, home or apartment, always look to August and September for some fantastic furniture steals!
