My newly slipcovered living room armchair in bright white denim with chocolate brown piping. (above)
So I had to get my furniture re-slipcovered last week (for reasons I shall not mention). As usual, decided not to take much of a risk with color...white...or fabric...100% cotton/denim. I did decide to be slightly daring though...daring in my world...by adding chocolate brown contrast piping. After my upholstery guy picked up the furniture, I managed to spend four days holding him up as I tried to decide what to do with the living room sofa, chair and ottoman. Finally, he tracked me down at my work while I was in a meeting and got me to commit. Did I ever mention that I have decision making issues? We'll get into that at a later date.
This past weekend, the furniture came back and I loved it. My upholstery guy said that he thought that I was "like a designer" and he was going to add contrast trim to his own couch at home. Little did he know that I was not "like a designer" at all...I just copied good friend CB, whose home is featured in a post here on Nbaynadamas (just scroll down a few after this post and you will see it) and who has contrast piping on her living room sofa. That's the smart thing to do...when having decision making problems...just copy others. Yooohoooo....that's it.
I don't put too many pics of my house on Nbaynadamas...but my sister, DS, who often does not pay attention to the emails I send her, left a voice mail saying "Hey...I saw that email with your furniture. [Eureka...she read it] Put it on your blog." That I think means she liked it? DS commands and my personal furniture makeover makes my own website. :-)

Before, my living room chair was covered in an off white cotton duck fabric...totally simple, no frills. Looks like a marshmallow. Maybe too boring? (above)
After, my living room chair gets some definition and a bit of style (I think) with the brown contrast piping and a custom lumbar pillow in Windsor Smith's Pelagos fabric. (above)
Friend, BN (a guy) says that my living room looks way too cluttered in the after photos. I responded that when you live in the smallest house in the United States just adding a pillow or two can make it look more cluttered...then I told him to focus on the piping. Hmmmmmm.....
