Last week in SEE THIS HOUSE, I showed you an apartment that was $30 million dollars in NYC. This week, I bring you this lovely charming Los Angeles area home that is a fraction of the cost and still quite stylish.
This remodel is brought to life by real estate developer Steve Jones and his company Better Shelter. Steve's company remodels houses throughout the Los Angeles area and Orange County...his goal is to design affordable housing with a cool Southern California design aesthetic and by using sustainable construction methods.
This 1928 Spanish style home in the north east L.A. enclave of Highland Park is listed by realtor Courtney Poulous of Urb ReFurb. The list price is $519K for 3 bedrooms, 3 baths in 1625 square feet and very nice hillside views too!
For me, one the cool thing about these images is that Nbaynadamas pillows and throws are used throughout this real estate listing for staging purposes! I met Courtney and Steve awhile back and was happy to lend a few Nbaynadamas goodies to their project (plus the added bonus for me is that I love to see my products actually at work in a home). I was so excited to see these photos. I love the way Nbaynadamas looks in this space!
I really like this house. It is open, airy and bright. Just my kind of home. Livable and accessible in price. Love the Koa dark hardwood floors throughout. Better Shelter stages its homes with vintage furniture and lighting making for an eclectic but inviting space with its own unique style.
This 1920's Spanish style home is perfectly perched on a little hill of its own. (above) |
A friendly green front door with black trim and a stain glass light welcomes visitors. (above) |
The rich dark Koa wood floors start in the foyer and run throughout the home. (above) |
Hello Nbaynadamas Gate throw on a wing back chair right off the entry way! (above) |
A nice fireplace adds an element of coziness to this this cheerful living room. And yes more Nbaynadamas decorative throw pillows on the sofa and club chairs! (above) |
The open living plan offers a view of the dining room from the main living space. (above) |
White marble countertops, a farmhouse sink, white cabinetry and stainless steel appliances are the recipe for a nicely appointed kitchen. (above) |
The breakfast nook! (above) |
The hall leading to the bedrooms with its eclectic decor! (above) |
More Nbaynadamas pillows and a throw in light blue set the stage in the home's 2nd bedroom. Love the vintage table lamps in this room too! (above and below) |
Marble counters for the bathroom sink...! (above) |
Cute...right? What do you think of this real estate listing? What would you decor wise if this home was yours? Or would you move in with just your bags?
If you are in the Los Angeles area...the house will be open this weekend on Saturday and Sunday from 2-5pm. Click here for more pictures and information on the house. You can reach realtor Courtney at courtney@urbrefurb.com if you have questions.
Happy Wednesday!

P.S. My roof is being redone this week. Oh boy. Yesterday they found a portion of the roof that was no good...and that meant yesterday night I came home to a huge hole in my ceiling. Well, the bright side of things is at least it is not rainy season!
P.P.S. More inserts and some other things went off to New York yesterday for my booth at the New York International Gift Fair. Please, if you are in NYC from 8/14-8/18, stop by the Javits center to see the Nbaynadamas collection...we'll be showing some new cotton pillows (hopefully, picking up fabric today) and some new throw styles (definitely) and some new colorways on the luxury linen pillow line (for sure). Nbaynadamas is in booth 7849 in the At Home Textiles section. Please come by and say hi!
P.P.P.S. Taking Mr. Boo (my dog) to Chateau Marmutt (the Chateau Marmont "resort" or daycare for L.A. dogs...so silly but I love the name) before work this morning so he doesn't have the roof cave in on him!
P.P.P.P.S. A piece of metal just flew down from the roof and all I can hear is scraping and pounding noises above. New roof means a little chaos I guess. Think I'll go to work and hope for no more holes in the roof when I get home tonight! Please wish me luck! :-)
