Love this electric shade of green called chartreuse...
Is there a way to make a bold statement with this bright green in home decor...a design statement that is brash, timeless and also possibly easy to live with? Is chartreuse too bright to use in a big way?
Well first before answering those huge important questions of the day (of course I hope you understand that I understand that in the greater scheme of things, these questions are not at all huge and if I took a step outside of my design focused world, I might even say these questions are not really even questions...LOL), I went to Wikipedia for this post to find a definition of chartreuse...here's what the online info site had to say:
"Chartreuse is a color halfway between yellow and green that was named because of its resemblance to the green color of one of the French liqueurs called green chartreuse, introduced in 1764."
I think this living room with a chartreuse painted fireplace and the chartreuse trimmed windows shows how a little chartreuse can go a long way to make a design impact! I like!

P.S. Exciting phone call yesterday with a company in North Carolina...talking about partnering on a big design project...we'll see...may be months and months in the making but am keeping fingers crossed!
P.P.S. It is the end of the day and I just was looking at these photos again and realized that the wall behind the bookshelves is also chartreuse. Interesting indeed!
