TILE FILE: PART II - CEMENT MOROCCAN TILES!

Foyer with a black staircase with white trimming and grey and white cement Moroccan tiles by Popham Designs

Yesterday...after the post on foyer floors...so many readers asked about the floor in the above photo and where they might find this floor.

Well with a little research, I found out that the Moroccan cement floor tiles come from Popham Designs in Marrakesh. Popham is owned by American expats Caitlin and Samuel Dowe-Sandes. Each tile is handmade by artisans in Marrakech. The patterns within each of the collections are designed to be flexible so that the same tiles can be arranged in numerous layouts. The tiles are perfect for both indoor and outdoor uses.

The tile pictured above and below (the one all the readers seem to love) is part of the Classic + Twists collection and is called "Wink"! Very cute.

Love these gorgeous decorated cement tiles. I love the use of these on the wall behind the desk below. Oh dear. I need a bigger house so I can have fun playing with design details like these tiles!

Blue and white diamond cement tiles behind a white desk with floating shelves. In front of the desk is a white Tulip Chair on a dark rug with a diamond pattern

Black and white cement Moroccan tiles with a laurel crown print. On top of them is a black Louis XIV chair

Some of Popham's tiles are available through Ann Sacks here in the U.S. OR just email Popham Designs directly for custom orders at contact@pophamdesign.com.

Hope this follow up TILE FILE helps.

Happy Wednesday!

  1. Wow, I love the different tiles you have in your home! I would absolutely to have something like this in my house, it adds so much character to the room. The black and white is my favorite! It's such a classic look, and it's not too drastic. Something like this would look so nice in my kitchen, it would really spruce it up.
