HILLSIDE MODERN DREAM HOUSE - PRIVATE TOUR

Photos by Coco of COCOCOZY
Multi million dollar modern Hollywood Hills view house (above)
Got the chance to take a private tour of this super sleek modern hillside home this weekend.  3900 square feet, 3 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, bleached oak hardwood floors throughout, two stories and magnificent views of Los Angeles, the hills and little bit of the ocean.  A modern dream.

Of course I couldn't stop snapping photos.  The super white walls, bleached light wood floors high ceilings and bright light put this in the dream house territory for me.  A little modern for my taste...but if given to me, I could certainly work with it.   I would redecorate certainly - change the furniture (I would keep the Barcelona chairs, Saarinen table, and Eames chairs though) and replace the art and COCOCOZY it up a bit with some rugs and geometric pillows etc..and then call it a day.  Hmmm....food for thought....

So today I bring you several photos I shot of this multi million dollar modern home...here is a private tour of this Hollywood Hills dream house...

On a clear enough day you can see beyond the tree tops and homes right to the Pacific Ocean! (above)
What do you think of this modern Hollywood Hills home?  Too modern or just right?  Could you make do?

There is a cute wood paneled den off the living room that I didn't get pictures of...very cozy.  Good place to watch t.v.  Oh I didn't take photos of the second floor bedrooms or baths at all.  The master bedroom is the size of a football field and has a beautiful tree top view to wake up to every morning.

Happy Monday!

MY COTTAGE LIVING ROOM WITH NEW COCOCOZY RUG

Coco of COCOCOZY's living room with a natural fence rug
My living room! (above)

I just added a COCOCOZY Fence Rug in Natural Linen into the mix at my house.  Today I'm sharing with you a glimpse inside my little tiny cottage in the Hollywood Hills because I need your thoughts on the rug!

Added lots of flowers and the new rug because best of friend AM was visiting.  The rug was initially meant for my bedroom but I ended up leaving it in the living room.

I have a few COCOCOZY textiles in the form of a pillow and a cotton knit throw as accents.  I wonder if I need curtains...thinking...a very small space so I wonder if drapery would finish the space or make it look closed in and cluttered.

What do you think about the rug...are drapes necessary?  Hmmm...thinking.

TE saw the new rug this past weekend.  He liked it. So did AM...so did her little kiddies!

So what do you think of my new rug? Would you have gone with a darker rug for more contrast or does the lighter color work? Do tell.

Happy Monday!

COCOCOZY EXCLUSIVE: HOUSE BEAUTIFUL PREVIEW OF DESIGNER TOBI TOBIN'S HOLLYWOOD HILLS HOME!

Am obsessed with sisal, sea grass, grass cloth and more lately.  It could be a phase I am going through.

Imagine my delight when SA who does publicity for House Beautiful sent me these photos of  the Hollywood Hills home belonging to interior designer Tobi Tobin.

These photos are from House Beautiful's May 2013 issue hitting stands on April 23rd.

I love the sisal rugs on floors throughout, grass cloth wallpaper in the foyer, the sea grass runner with black trim on the stairs.   Natural woven fibers...I like this look..especially as we approach summer.

What do you think of this Hollywood Hills home?  Do you like the use of natural fibers?

Happy Monday!

WEEKEND PHOTO: THE FRONT OF MY HOUSE AND A LANDSCAPE DILEMMA!

Photo in this post by Coco of Nbaynadamas
Front patio with Japanese Maple, impatiens, ivy and winding flagstone steps
My "front yard"! (above)
As most of you know, I live in a tiny tiny tiny cottage in the Hollywood Hills. My house is located on a small trail nestled among the trees on its own little knoll.

This is the front of my house.

Out front, there's a lovely little colorful Japanese maple that my gardener recommended, some fuchsia and white impatiens and 25 winding flagstone steps that lead up to my 1940's house (mini house actually). Oh did I mention the oodles and oodles of ivy out front...including two slightly bizarre ivy covered trellises (I did not put those there...the previous owner did).  I chuckle when I look at those trellises sometimes as I walk up the stairs after a long day at work...they just look so strange....like ivy monsters or something...serving no purpose really...but I haven't gotten rid of them even after almost 8 years of owning this house! :-)

I have a small "outdoor decor" dilemma today...landscaping issues...

My little Japanese maple out in front of my house looks so wonderful right now...bright and vibrant...full of those fabulous deep purple leaves. I love it when leaves come back. I am thinking though of changing this Japanese maple out for an evergreen miniature tree like a little kumquat or something.  Reason...for about 1/2 of the year my little maple has no leaves...and it is little depressing to come home to a scrawny little tree that really just looks like a bunch of twigs. I don't know what to do here. I LOVE the way this cutie looks in spring and summer...but I nearly loathe the way it looks in the winter...

Do I keep the maple tree or do I dig it up and find a little evergreen tree?  What do you think dear readers? Take or leave the maple...?

Am off to the Pasadena Rose Bowl flea market this morning!  Wish me some good vintage hunting!

Happy Sunday!

P.S. Do you have any part of your yard that you are particularly proud of?  If so, please send me photos and maybe I'll post!  Nbaynadamas@gmail.com

P.P.S. I know, I really should be addressing those two heaps of ivy on the slope behind the tree...but that is for another landscape dilemma Sunday!

P.P.P.S. Follow me on Nbaynadamas Twitter because throughout the morning I will tweet finds from the Rose Bowl Flea Market...from around 9:30am-11:00amPST.

SEE THIS HOUSE: SHERYL CROW'S ROCKING HOLLYWOOD ESTATE!

living room in Sheryl Crow's Hollywood home with pendant lights, a sectional sofa, a coffee table, a large fireplace with a vintage bicycle on the mantel and black trimmed windows

Rock artist Sheryl Crow opens up her Hollywood home in the March 2011 issue of Architectural Digest (magazine looks awesome btw thanks to its new editor-in-chief Margaret Russell (she used to run Elle Decor)).

The main house, a 1926 Spanish Colonial, is one of three historical homes sitting on the huge estate grounds owned by Crow in the Hollywood Hills (meanwhile I would like to note that I too live in the Hollywood Hills in diametrically opposite living conditions...my property does not include three historical homes...just one tiny tiny tiny almost embarrassingly small cottage on a plot of land that it so hilly that you could only fit one tiny tiny tiny tiny tiny almost embarrassingly small cottage on said land...a far cry from Sheryl's digs indeed!).

The house has a nice fresh feel and eclectic edge to it. Love the architecture of an authentic Spanish style house - the high ceilings, white washed smooth stucco walls, tiling details and more.

The decor works here too - clean lines but still filled with curiosities and surprises that makes it so unique. The vibe is definitely casual and comfortable with some high end styling befitting of an artist who has had huge successes in the music industry. One thing I will say too living here in Los Angeles and seeing so much style gone awry in entertainment industry homes...this home is definitely on point, well decorated and well done (not that Sheryl (notice I'm on a first name basis with her now) would even care about my opinion...but there you have it Sheryl...in my humble and not so humble opinion, you have a nice house!).

Bedroom in Sheryl Crow's Hollywood home with a dark wood four poster bed, matching nightstand, sculptures of animal heads over the headboard and two hanging lights

A couple things I'm loving about the decor and design...love the antique bicycle over the fireplace mantel in the living room, love the kitchen with the subway tile covered walls and Wolf range, love the hammock with the city view...I love a well placed hammock!

What do you think of musician Sheryl Crow's California estate ? Would you take it or leave it? Would you change anything about the decor? Do weigh in please.

Today, I have the day off from my work work...but tons of Nbaynadamas work to do - orders to fill, meetings to be had, swatches to have made, banks to go to (are banks even open today)...you know busy busy busy stuff...interesting to me...probably very boring to you...so I'll stop rambling on about my day of errands!

Hope you have the day off and have a nice President's Day.

Happy Monday!
