HOLIDAY GIFT IDEA: LIMITED EDITION COCOCOZY LOGO LUCITE TRAYS!

COCOCOZY Logo Lucite Trays in Black and Gray
COCOCOZY Logo Lucite Trays - $85 (Clear lucite tray with COCOCOZY Logo removable insert. 11.5"x17.5"x2.5")
This holiday season, we at COCOCOZY bring you a new limited edition gift item in the COCOCOZY Shop...our very own COCOCOZY Logo Lucite Tray! Am obsessed with it.  I designed this simple sleek modern decorative tray by deciding to use our logo repeat pattern and CM and JW at the COCOCOZY HQ made it happen.  Oh did I mention it is 100% made in the U.S.A.!

Was talking to best of friend AM who had ordered a large fabulous over-sized lucite tray for about $500 from some chic online company.  AM had a custom insert made for her lucite tray from said chic company and it was sealed in the bottom of the tray.  AM emailed me the other day, totally bummed out...she said her tray from the chic company was ruined because water had seeped into the cracks at the bottom and ruined the tray.

So the cool thing about the COCOCOZY limited edition tray is that the  COCOCOZY Logo insert on the bottom is removable so that allows you to take the insert out and wash the tray and/or exchange the insert out for an image you like!

Oh...I must give credit where credit is due.  Good friend SN was the one who months ago said that I should do lucite home accessories.  SN is also the one who also gave me the name of the lucite workroom where we now manufacture!  Thank you SN!  She is so sweet and thoughtful!

Perhaps a gift for the holidays for someone you know.  Or even a home accessory to dress up your house for holiday entertaining.

We've only made a handful of these tray...as a special treat for the holidays.  Pre-order now and we'll ship out late next week...to arrive just in time for the holiday!

SHOP WATCH: SUMMERHOUSE STYLE!

A stunning metal screen in the SummerHouse furniture showroom! (above)

SummerHouse is a gorgeous showroom and design firm located in Ridgeland, Mississippi (not too far from Jackson) and owned by designer Lisa Palmer.

The SummerHouse boutique is described as "...unfussy, unique and truly unpredictable. It’s a place where traditional and modern pieces fuse to create a look that’s sophisticated, comfortable and beautifully fit for the individual it defines."

A well curated showroom as far as I can tell...with beautifully chosen pieces of furniture and accessories from an array of designers! Love it.

Anyhooo...here are some glimpses from the showroom and a little more!

White L-shaped couch with accent pillows with an accent table holding two lamps with gold sculpted bases and white shades, in the background a large bed with a dark wood canopy frame has a COCOCOZY pillow on it

Also, must say, I am thrilled because SummerHouse carries several COCOCOZY products including our cotton knit throws, lavender sachets and lacquer boxes!

Below, COCOCOZY products are on display throughout the SummerHouse showroom.

Five COCOCOZY throws are stacked on top of each other, to their right is a stack of books on top of which is a container holding COCOCOZY Lavender Sachets

I am sure every blogger who has been to NYC in the past year or who lives in NYC has done a post on the store C Wonder (started by Tory Burch's ex husband). Well I haven't so now I'm going to follow the crowd and do my own! I love this cute multi faceted clothing home furnishings jewelry general knick knack store.

Love love love...

Since I was in NY yesterday for a whirlwind 48 hour trip...I managed to pop into the store and found four fabulous goodies that are worth a second glance...wonderful...you see?

Green and white ethnic print ceramic dish ware on a floating, glass shelf with subway tile walls
Ceramic Ikat Dinnerware - $10-$14 (above)

neutral leather rectangle tray with round metal handles
Rectangular Tray with Handles - $88 (above)

Red, white, pink and green enamel bamboo bracelet
Enamel Bamboo Embossed Bracelet - $28 (above)

orange and navy metal water bottles in a square white box
Metal Water Bottles - $9 (above)

Which of these goodies is your favorite? I am partial to the cute metal water bottles...would be perfect for walking up and down Runyon Canyon on the weekends.

Happy Thursday!

P.S.  Talking about over scheduled...for two nights in a row...I had dinner twice.  I double booked - twice...is that a quadruple!  In NYC I had dinner with best of friend AM early on and then met up at 10p with friend A.Ro and had dinner at Locanda again...I don't think I actually ordered though.  Then last night here in Los Angeles, I met AM's hubby JE who was in for just a day and had dinner with him in Beverly Hills and then drove 1 block (yes 1 block) and had dinner with sis DS.  Who does that?

P.P.S.  My NY schedule was whirlwind...back to back meetings, lunches, parties, drinks for two full days.  Am a little pooped...but it was ALL so much fun!

P.P.P.S. Have a great day!

SEE THIS HOUSE: THE L.A. HOME OF INTERIOR DESIGNER ABBY WOLF-WEISS!

The center hall of Abby Wolf-Weiss' Los Angeles home. (above)

The other day, I got a nice email from Los Angeles interior designer Abby Wolf-Weiss who directed me to her website.  I clicked on the link and immediately wrote her back asking if I could feature her work.

Turns out Abby is friends with my friend interior designer Kristi Bender, who is a partner at Wendy Schwartz Design.  I got a call from Kristi the other day about Abby too.  Kristi said Abby is awesome and that she is a huge fan of Abby and her work.

Well after seeing Abby's work Kristi didn't need to say much...I became an instant fan too.

Classically casually elegant.

I also love a story about someone who has made a change of careers. Abby, as it turns out, was once an entertainment executive.  About a year and half ago, she hung up her Hollywood power suit and decided to tackle the world of interior design.  These images are from her own home here in Los Angeles.  Tah dah and here she is!  She thought it and made it happen.  She also happens to have great taste it seems.  I like Abby's style.

Take a look!

A cozy living room seating arrangement...4 armchairs and a round upholstered ottoman...the scene is so inviting. (above)

I would love to kick off my shoes in this library...love the faux bamboo chandelier and the long gray sectional sofa! (above)

Silver wallpaper and a traditional dark wood oval table make for a very impressive formal dining space. (above)

I'd certainly be happy with this kitchen! (above)

I like the idea of putting a world map on the wall of a child's room...great colors and texture and a little geography lesson too! (above)
What do you think of Abby's home?  Which room is your favorite?

Innate talent I think...she just took up design less than two years ago!  Abby has opened up a little design studio in a flower shop in the Larchmont area of Los Angeles.  She's also been selling vintage goods on One Kings Lane!

Yay Abby! Can't wait to see what you do next!  Nice meeting you via email.  I'll definitely stop by the shop this summer!

Happy Friday!

P.S.  Friend and co-god mother JH is town today and tomorrow (we are co-godmom's to our friend FF's son...we often joke that FF clearly didn't think either of us was capable of godmother duties on our own so she paired us up!).  JH and her husband DH flew in from South Carolina yesterday and went to the President Obama dinner at George Clooney's house last night here in Los Angeles!  Whoa!  Wow!  I spent about a half an hour on the phone with JH this morning gabbing about what she saw and the event.  It sounded amazing.  She said George Clooney's house was gorgeous...a Tudor style home with grounds and kind of compound like setting with other houses...she said the decor was gorgeous...livable, casual, chic.  Oh how I wish I could have attended!  Oh, and she spent the whole evening chatting with tons of celebs and glitterati at a sit down dinner for maybe 150 people!  Whoa.  So cool.  I am seeing JH tonight and I'll get more scoop from her!

P.P.S.  While JH was dining with the President and George Clooney, I was out with a fun group of married ladies (I describe them as married ladies...because I was the only single lady with them...oy va voy...need to work on my MRS degree right away!).  Friend and interior designer Alison Blumenfeld invited us to a party and GARDE ... a new store on Beverly Blvd. opened by Scotti Sitz.  It is a delightful posh gift store with wonderful home accessories, arty jewelry and much more.  Very chic.  Here are a few photos I took at GARDE last night (before my camera ran out of juice):

A jewelry trunk show last night at GARDE, on Beverly in Los Angeles! (above and below)

Modern and eclectic home accessories line the sleek shelves at GARDE! (above and below)

P.P.P.S. We ended up at Itacho for a quick bite after the trunk show at GARDE.  My dinner group did not include the President and George, but my group was quite a lovely bunch of stars in my view..Alexandra Kimball, super power publicist, she worked for Oscar de la Renta for 10 years and now has her own publicity company; Alison Blumenfeld and Kristi Bender, very chic interior design gals and Beata Henrichs-Lieb. Beata is fantastic. I met Beata for the first time last night. She is starting her own collection of soft goods that I will squawk about on COCOCOZY whenever she gives me the go ahead. I saw her work at GARDE and LOVED it. I think I will be hopefully carrying some of it in the COCOCOZY online shop too! Very chic idea for the summer lounging.

P.P.P.P.S.  Tonight JH and I will be attending more parties and I need to think of a place for dinner.

P.P.P.P.P.S.  Need to work with sis DS on our Mother's Day gift for our amazing mother MDS...hmmm...let's see...thinking...I always procrastinate on gifts.  Need to get better at that in 2015.  Giving myself a little pad as I know I'll be really busy in 2012-2014.  Won't have time to change my ways of getting gifts last minute over the next few years.  So I'll target 2015 as the time where I transform to the 2 month in advance gift "figure-it-outer" person!

P.P.P.P.P.P.S.  Happy Friday again!

WIRED RIGHT - AN ILLUMINATING TABLETOP FIND!

wire taper candle holders
Crate & Barrel - Topiary Candle Holder - $14.95-$18.95 (wire taper candle holders) (above)
I like. Wire candleholders in shades of green. Perfect for my white long candles. Maybe on my outdoor table for a summer party.  I'd buy a bunch of them...maybe 9 and run them down the middle of the table with some simple white flowers in low vases surrounding them.

Happy Wednesday!

COLOR WATCH: SEA FOAM OR MINT - NAMING Nbaynadamas FABRIC COLORWAYS - WAS I WRONG OR RIGHT!

Mint green living room with floor to ceiling windows, a white sofa with two armchairs, a white fireplace, built in bookcase and a round coffee table

Late last year, when designing new offerings for the 2012 Nbaynadamas textiles collection, I wanted to go with some soothing colorways for my fabric patterns.  I was browsing the web a few days ago and came across this picture of this lovely soothing city living room and it reminded me of the colors I chose for this year's pillow collection.

So, during my so called design process (which is hardly a process...and more of a race to finish everything in time for market), I decided on a pale green blue for one of my main colors for the year and I called it Sea Foam because it reminded me of the color of that froth that sits on top of the water after a wave crashes onto shore. I was so sure of my color name choice. So sure. I pronounced, "I now name you SEA FOAM!" and then the audience roared.  I went forward with this name with a strong conviction.  I put it in the new 2012 Nbaynadamas catalog and called it Sea Foam, I went to market in January/February with it and described it as Sea Foam...and so on and so on.

After, I made this definitive decision on naming the color Sea Foam, of course being the person I am...I am now waffling.   I realized my new pale silvery green might be considered to the trained eye a totally different color...maybe Mint. I started seeing all of these stories in online magazines this month about mint and celadon and pale green...hmmmm...oy va voy.

Only after the fact, like now, did I go online and look at what people were calling Sea Foam...and for some reason I don't think the online Sea Foam matches the Nbaynadamas vision of Sea Foam.

So is my Sea Foam not Sea Foam...if not, what would you call it?

It is too late for me to change the color name...but am curious as to how off I am with the nomenclature here!  So please do weigh in! Do you see Sea Foam, Mint or something else when you look at my new colorway?  Where might you include a color like this in your home?

Happy Friday!

COLOR WATCH: GRASS GREEN!

White living room with an oval coffee table and sofa with a grass green rug

I like the surprising use of a grass green rug in this light bright living room above. The rug is such a cheerful green.  Why not add a little of this wheatgrass green to your home for fall?

P.S.  We just finished shipping a huge number of  Nbaynadamas pillows and throws out this week to stores around the country!  Fab assistant KS (who loves the color pink) has done a great job.  Nbaynadamas textiles will now be in stores in Los Angeles, New York, Seattle, Houston, Atlanta, Malibu, Nantucket, Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Cape Cod, Chattanooga and several other cities across the country and in Toronto, Canada too! I'll do a post on the most popular items and where you can get them next week or the week after!  Now that we have our fall order shipment almost 75% complete, I've just got to start figuring out what is new for Spring/Summer 2012 in the collection.  Have some fun ideas brewing.

P.P.S.  We just sent off more pillows to a major magazine who requested some items for possible feature in a few months.  We'll keep you posted on that.  We also just made custom drapery panels for a very famous "celebrity" here in Los Angeles...she custom ordered the Nbaynadamas Logo drapery in grey with a pinch pleat and double wide.  They look fantastic!  I want them for my house!!!
